This template is different from our two other templates (for creating confidentiality agreements and boilerplate).
In effect, we had no choice but to start with confidentiality agreements and boilerplate. Because I had created a dozen years ago a highly customizable template for confidentiality agreements, it made sense to quickly create another one using a different document-assembly technology. And because every template would need boilerplate, it made sense to do a boilerplate template early on.
But few people get excited about confidentiality agreements or boilerplate. Service agreements are different. Unlike confidentiality agreements, they routinely vary from deal to deal, making customization more useful.
And they routinely contain provisions that many drafters don’t understand, making our detailed interview—complete with guidance—more valuable. Notably, our service agreement template allows users to address intellectual property issues and insurance issues.
